The 17th of Tammuz(July 20)

The 17th of Tammuz(July 20) is the beginning of a three week mourning period for the Jewish people that leads up to the 9Th of Av(August 10). The 9Th of Av is when the 1st and 2Nd temple were destroyed, World war 1 started, which led up to World war 2(the Holocaust) . Several other things have happened. So from this day(tonight at sunset) till the 9Th of Av the Jews are sober and observe strict laws. We are not so strict as the Orthodox.We are more like Conservative Jews.
