Its Thursday, and time for another Character Connection hosted by Jen at The Introverted Reader.
I chose the book Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, because I've kind of grown up with the characters, and know how I can relate to each of them. Yes, each of them :) Ok, ok, except Amy- I really don't like her that much. But more on that another time.
Margeret (Meg) March- I connect to Meg in that I hope to get married and have my own home one day. I am also like her in that I am the oldest in my family, try to be responsible, and keep the younger ones in check ;) I also am like Meg in that I don't talk much, but I am not necessarily as quiet as Beth is.
Josephine (Jo) March- I think many writer's sympathize with Jo, and many people that have a short temper ;). I have always enjoyed reading how Jo becomes a woman in the book, but still gets into scrapes.
Elizabeth (Beth) March- I connect to Beth because she is gentle and quiet, and that's usually the words people use to describe me (I don't think they're very accurate ;). I also understand how Beth likes to stay home and gets nervous about being in public and all. I fully sympathize with that. She also likes to take things slower.

ReplyDeletei love that you chose three characters! it's so difficult to name only one sister from the Marches, they are all interesting in their own ways.
ReplyDeleteI love little Women! :) It was my favorite book when I was younger. I still like it, but books like Pride and Prejudice has taken its place among the number one favorites.
ReplyDeleteI hate to admit it, but I tried reading Little Women when I was little and I thought it was boring. =/ I thought the same thing about Anne of Green Gables, which became one of my favorite books later on though. I just picked up Little Women at a library book sale to give it another try all these years later. So many people love it, surely now that I'm older I'll see what everyone else sees.

Little Women is one of my all time favorite books! I love Amy, for the same reason that I love Marianne from Sense & Sensibility: She's passionate and free and spirited. I also think that she grows the most out of all of the sisters.

It's been a long time since I read this book, but can remember I loved it. I really should reread it, or maybe even pick up 'Little Women and Werewolves' as that one is probably easier to find at the moment
